6 www.ctaahq.org T he Connecticut Apartment Association, based in Glastonbury, Connecticut, has partnered with the American Red Cross to support the work of the Red Cross in the community. As part of the partnership, the Connecticut Apartment Association has contributed $10,000 in support of the Red Cross and has become a Ready 365 Bronze level supporter. “We’re grateful to the Connecticut Apartment Association for this generous gift and for helping our region be ready 365 days a year through this corporate giving program,” said Krista Coletti, Chief Development Officer, American Red Cross Connecticut and Rhode Island Region. “The Connecticut Apartment Association’s partnership is key in helping the Red Cross be ready to respond to disaster and to prepare our community.” On average, the Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters each year. Here in Connecticut, the Red Cross responded to more than 700 local incidents last year, the majority of which were home fires. Part of The Connecticut Apartment Association’s contribution will go to support Red Cross disaster relief. Donations to Red Cross disaster relief help the Red Cross prepare for, respond to and help people recover from disasters big and small. “The American Red Cross relies on volunteers and donors to support their mission, and the CTAA is proud to support through these contributions” said CTAA President Andrew Lund. “The help that Red Cross provides to people and communities struggling from disaster is nothing short of amazing.” The financial contributions of corporate citizens, like The Connecticut Apartment Association, enable the Red Cross to make a tremendous difference every day for those who rely on our services in disasters and other emergencies.
