Pub. 3 2018 Issue 2

5 ISSUE 2 2018 This pretty much sums it up doesn’t it? This winter has been never ending, keeping us all busy - property managers and business partners alike. I am so looking forward to spring! C T A A h a s b e e n b u s y educat ing, advocat ing and communicating! March 8th was our St. Patrick ’s Day member giveback at Summit at Mill Ridge (a Paredim Community) in East Haven. Congrats to Jennifer who won our $200 visa gift card and thanks to everyone who came and donated to the East Haven Animal Shelter. March 28th was our Annual Meeting with special guest Rep. Larry Butler, co-chair of the Housing Commit- tee. Larry is a great friend to CTAA and our advocacy efforts, noting that our Legislative Committee is “doing their job”, as he has seen us several times prior to and during this ses- sion. He is working closely with us on the abuse of service animal bill. This is an important issue and we need your help on this. You will see educational and action alerts - please respond and take action! Our new Board of Directors was installed, and a “State of the Association” address was presented. CTAA also donated an additional $5,000 to the Ameri- can Red Cross (ARC) our charitable giving partner. Ursula Sowinski and Steve Skolnick from ARC were on hand to receive the donation and speak to the attendees about the im- pact our donation has. Check out the photos in this issue! April 11th is our annual Fair Hous- ing session which will be held at the Best Western Plus in North Haven, CT. The session will be presented by David Carlson and Frank Fly- nn of the Flynn Law Group. Each attendee will received a certificate of participation and 3 CEUs. I am excited to announce our 2018 sponsorship opportunity package which allows for both management and business partners to promote with CTAA affordably. More in- formation is included in this issue. Thanks to Maineline Graphics and Frontier Communications for their overall sponsorship of CTAA! I hope to see you at a CTAA event soon! Thank you for your continued sup- port. Jessica Olander Executive Director Hello CTAAMembers and Future Members!
