10 www.ctaahq.org O n the outskirts of downtown Hartford lies an apartment community rich in both culture and personality. ArtSpace Hartford is located at 555 Asylum St. in Hartford and opened in November of 1997. It was established with artists in mind and twenty years later, it is still occupied almost entirely by residents that actively participate in Hartford’s vibrant art community. Several of the original artists from 1997 call ArtSpace home to this day and have no intention of leaving any time soon. ArtSpace is comprised of extraordinarily spacious 1, 2, and 3 BR apartments, some over 1,800 square feet! The f loor plans boast open living rooms with giant windows that provide an exceptional amount of natural light to the units. The kitchens have all been recently updated with granite counter tops, beautiful oak cabinets, and new appliances. The high, studio-style ceilings compliment the living spaces and provide residents with more room to showcase their work. A huge contributor to the sense of community felt amongst ArtSpace residents is the beautiful 3,500 square foot gallery that hosts monthly art exhibits and performances. The gallery hosted its 20th anniversary art show in early February and was attended by over 500 guests throughout the event! The celebration included and artists award ceremony, a raff le, and a retro-themed dance party. Several other fun and exciting events are planned throughout the rest of the year and anybody interested in attending can “Like” the ArtSpace Hartford Gallery on Facebook for more information. ArtSpace Hartford is proudly managed by WinnResidential. ARTSPACE HARTFORD
